youfeelluckypunk: (such a gd cutie)

Reid has to laugh outright at the suggestion that either he or Luke had even come close to having anything to do with making the food spread out on the counter. Shaking his head, he reaches for a plate to hand to Alec, still laughing a little as he gestures to the turkey. "No, not even in the slightest," he admits, "neither of us are what you'd called skilled in the kitchen."

They're disaster, both of them, but lately Luke's been trying harder. Groceries are more abundant as opposed to the basics of milk and bread and eggs, though those are certainly still staples of their shopping list. More and more often, Reid finds himself waking up to his boyfriend making breakfast and a few times, he's even been sent off to work with a sandwich to accompany his kiss. It's awfully charming, really, that Luke has taken a step out of a comfort zone that mostly involves ordering out in an effort to do more with the food they have here at home. At some point, Reid knows he'll have to step up, too; but seeing as he doesn't want to risk accidentally giving his boyfriend food poisoning, he hasn't yet made any real attempts.

"Luke does make a very good sandwich," Reid advises, "if you're ever so inclined to ask him for one. But that doesn't exactly equate to a full turkey dinner. I will be reaping the benefits of leftovers, though, if we even have any when the night is over."
