"There's really no one like Magnus. He'd probably tell you the exact same thing if he hasn't already," Alec said, sounding as close to fond as he could. He continued to be careful with his words, not wanting to give out a lot of details on who Magnus was since it wasn't his place. It doesn't surprise him that Magnus has already made friends, has already made people love him with a few smiles and his indelible charm.
Alec wanted to ask what Magnus had said about him, what he might have revealed but he didn't. Magnus wouldn't have overstepped any boundaries, wouldn't have told anyone more about Alec than Alec himself would do himself. Still, he wondered what they might have talked about and he wondered why it made him feel...almost good that Magnus did talk about him with others. He'd always thought of himself as Magnus's secret, as a dalliance in the unfamiliar that ended as soon as Darrow had swallowed him up.
"I wouldn't be surprised if Luke had adopted you," Alec mused, letting a small, brief smile cross his face. Luke's apartment was like a wayward home for the lost. Back home, it had been Clary and Simon and here, it was Peter and Jason and...himself. Even if Alec knew he could take care of himself, didn't need anyone to help him, Luke had stepped up anyway and he and Reid had provided support and care and just their presence even when he'd rejected it loudly. "He did that back home a lot. Many people slept on his couch and ate his food. He never seemed to mind either."
