"You get bored with yourself?" Alec asked, finding that hard to believe. Still, he'd question it if it meant not thinking about himself and how people thought he looked in the morning. He'd spent some nights with Magnus back in Manhattan and they'd been...amazing even with Jace's life hanging in the balance. Magnus had complimented his appearance during that time and Alec still found it hard to accept even from Magnus.
"So, you're saying Luke's separation from Jocelyn and New York's a good thing?" From what Alec knew of Luke and Luke and Reid's relationship, Magnus wasn't wrong. He knew Luke missed Clary and Simon but he'd made himself a good life here and found a good person to love.
Would the same thing happen to him? He was still bothered by being away from New York and his siblings but he couldn't deny that not worrying about the Clave looming over his every move did have a certain amount of comfort attached to it.
The idea of finding love, though? Alec continued to think that would never happen no matter how much he wanted it, desired it. He couldn't let himself be that open. He didn't know how.
