"Yes," Alec said, not sounding at all ashamed of that fact. It was one of those things that was so ingrained in him that breaking the habit and changing his behavior wasn't as easy as people liked to believe. He'd grown up around his parents who called every Downworlder they encountered something other than their proper name and Alec had imitated what he'd seen and heard.
He was, however, starting to understand that people didn't necessarily like being called what they were and not who they were.
