In Luke's experience, complicated usually means something less complicated than people seem to think, but Caroline is young, even if she is a vampire, and so he only smiles and nods when she says that. He's far from a relationship expert, after all, his own experiences relatively happy, if not entirely what people had wanted of him, given that he'd been in love with Jocelyn.

Until Reid, of course, but Luke isn't exactly prone to doing much in the way of gushing. The people he's close to know he's happy and that's really the only thing that he thinks matters when it comes to his relationship. When it comes to the relationships of his friends, though, especially his younger friends, Luke is possibly a little too concerned with making sure they're okay. He can't protect everyone. Most people don't even need his protection, but he can't seem to help himself.

"Yes, hello," he says with a laugh, then looks across at this Neal once more. "The museum, hmm? That seems like the sort of thing I might find fun." He's teasing her, remembering the way she'd given him a gentle ribbing about his own dates with Reid before they'd even really been dates at all.
