Reid's glad Alec and Isabelle had experienced that bit of nostalgia the snow has brought them. He's never been a particularly big fan of the cold, and Luke has learned over the past month or so that getting Reid out of bed for work when the sun isn't even out yet is a much harder task than he might have anticipated. It's to Reid's advantage that his boyfriend is a werewolf, really; Luke is always warm, always, his body radiating the sort of comforting beat Reid would never be able to find with anyone else.
"It sounds like things haven't been so bad," he says, though he pauses when his brain allows him to process the first thing Alec had mentioned. "Well, not the part with the man in shackles, is there something we should be looking into there?"
They haven't had any reported incidents like that at the station, which doesn't mean it's a single occurrence, and Reid has seen enough during his years with the BAU to know that sometimes it can take just one trigger to send a potential unsub on a spree.
"Sorry," he adds, his cheeks flushing slightly. "Sometimes it's hard to turn off profiler mode."
