"All right," Alec said, nodding. He'd stopped by Luke's with plans to talk to either Luke or Reid or both of them for awhile so there was nothing stopping him from staying for awhile, from having a coffee and getting hissed at by cats.
He didn't know when his life had turned into something like this, something where he visited people he considered friends (closer than friends in some instances) and let cats crawl around on him and only worried about disappointing people several hundred times a day versus several thousand.
"Your cat sounds like Church," Alec remarked as he followed Reid upstairs. "Church didn't really ever hiss because I think he was too lazy for that but he made his disdain with you known. Mostly, he only like you when you were feeding him or when he allowed you to pet him. Isabelle like to compare Church to me because she's a terrible person."
