For a moment, Reid doesn't even know what to say. He doesn't know where to begin, how to explain exactly how he's certain Luke hasn't just gone out for an errand when it's only been a few hours since they'd last exchanged texts, and he recalls having felt this distinct sense of helplessness before when Maeve had been taken. It occurs to him, not for the first time today, that loving him must be like poison, and the thought threatens to make him sick in the doorway of Alec's apartment, but Reid manages to regain a bit of control over himself.
"He's gone," Reid says, and it's vague, but he can't imagine the wild look in his eyes is difficult to define. "I went to the store, I-- I bought us a late lunch, you know, we've been talking about getting Thai so I got Thai, and I took it home but the store was closed. It's too early to be closed, Alec, and he won't answer his phone or his messages, and the inventory was knocked over like there was a struggle, and he's gone."
Reid can't even quite bring himself to say his boyfriend's name, afraid of what it might happen if he does, and there are already hysterical tears brimming in his eyes as he pauses to comb his fingers through his hair, tugging manically at the ends.
Dropping his arms back to his sides, hands balled into fists, Reid takes a breath. "I need your help. Something's wrong, I know it is, I need to find him."
