Without a word, Alec ushered Reid inside so he could shut the door tightly behind them. His heart, which had already been racing, sped up even more though outwardly, he tried to remain calm. He could feel the cold knot in his stomach expand, could feel the ice settling in his bloodstream, chilling him.
But, he remained calm. He didn't know how when he wanted to scream but he guessed that since he'd gone years without showing emotion, he still had that ability inside him.
"I'll help you," Alec said firstly. He wasn't going to sit around and just wait for this to resolve not when it now involved two people he cared about. Not when Reid was standing in front of him looking like he was going to fall apart.
After a pause and some mental arguing with himself, he shared, "Magnus is gone too. It's not a coincidence. Was there anything in the store that helped you? Anything at all? Nothing's out of place at Magnus' apartment. The cats are fine."
