Alec believed him. He didn't know why and it didn't make this situation better but Alec didn't think that Marcus truly knew anything concerning the whereabouts of Luke or Magnus. It was frustrating and it was made only more so by Marcus' smile and his laughter.

Alec let Reid go, nudging him towards the door but he didn't immediately leave. Instead, he stepped closer to Marcus, crouching down and grabbing for the collar of the vampire's shirt.

"You do anything to him and I'll find you and you do not want that happening, vampire," Alec told him darkly, dangerously. He couldn't do anything now, not if he didn't want to break the Accords but there was an urge, a powerful desire, to just bring the dagger into the vampire's heart.

He stood up and went to rejoin Reid. "Go. It stinks in here."
