Reid's message had made Alec curious. As far as he knew, there was no crisis going on where people were disappearing or getting hurt or anything else that would require action so Alec could only guess that Reid just wanted to talk, catch up, see how things were after the events of last month.

He pushed his way into the diner and stopped, looking around for Reid. He's grown used to mundanes looking at him now though it still makes him uncomfortable. Eighteen years of being invisible made quite the impression.

Spotting Reid, he walked over, ignoring glances and slipped into the booth across from Reid. He nodded and said, "Hey. Everything all right?"
