"If you want to call it lucky," John answers with a faint quirk of a smile as he unwraps the sandwich, though he leaves it more or less untouched for the time being. Everyone in the department is interested in this case, even if it's not something that's been assigned to them and he doubts Reid will find his interest suspicious at all. The Lunar Killer has made things difficult for everyone and while John wishes he and Finch had some additional information they could feed to the department, he doesn't have anything.

And anyway, what he'd really prefer is to have some information fed to him so he doesn't have to leave this case to men like Reid, men who have a little boy to tuck in at night instead of being here, poring over a case that's both complicated and dangerous.

"That's been a tough case, hasn't it?" he asks, finally picking up the sandwich and taking a bite. "I'm not working on it, but it's hard not to hear things about such a well known killer." Well known, violent, and difficult to dig up any information on. John would have thought someone would have something by now, but they're all at a loss.
