a very mess-y valentine's day
When Reid wakes up on Valentine's Day morning, it's without a single regret. Nestled against the warmth of his boyfriend's body, he stifles a yawn as he blinks against the rays of the sunrise that peek through the curtains before smiling to himself and settling his cheek back down against Luke's chest.
They'd arrived at Kagura after Luke had closed the bookstore for the weekend and aside from going out to dinner at the lodge's main restaurant, they haven't spent much time outside of their room. Reid has no complaints, of course, considering a great deal of the past twenty-four hours have consisted of lazing in bed, alternating between making love, napping, and ordering room service. They can't be blamed, it's a busy weekend at Kagura because it's the only so-called destination setting in the city so there seem to be a lot of other couples who'd had the same idea they had to go on a romantic weekend getaway. Luke had suggested it months ago but they've both been so busy with work that it hadn't made sense to book a room until now.
He's glad for it, though. As much as he could go on about the true history of Valentine's Day, he's never had anyone to celebrate the Hallmark holiday with before. That they can spend this time together without worrying about anyone or anything else is a gift, one he's going to make sure they continue to cherish until they check-out tomorrow afternoon. Besides, there's something he's been meaning to bring up for what feels like ages now, even though it hasn't been that long since he'd mentioned it to Graham. He'd spoken to T.J. about it on New Year's Eve, too, his desire to propose to Luke one day; but Reid knows he and Luke are both pragmatic men. It's in both of their best interests to talk about it, to discuss what they really want for their future, just as they'd talked about who would take Leo if Mindy were to ever disappear from the city.
There are nerves, most certainly, at the prospect of bringing it up. He isn't sure whether it's too early to be talking about this, Reid has no idea what the protocol is on that. All he really knows is that he's deeply in love with the man lying next to him, that he's never loved anyone else as much as this, and he wants to spend the rest of his life with Luke. From the very start of their relationship, they'd made sure to be clear with each other about the fact that neither of them were looking to start something casual. Now that they're nearly six months into their romantic relationship, Reid thinks maybe it would be okay to at least discuss the subject of marriage.
It can at least wait until they've ordered in breakfast, though, and his smile grows wider as Luke stirs beside him. Tracing over the curve of Luke's bare hip, Reid lets out a content hum before tilting his head up to look at his boyfriend. "Morning," he murmurs, pressing a kiss to the edge of Luke's jaw. "Happy Valentine's Day."

"Spencer," he breathes again, his voice hoarse and choked off. He can feel Reid's tongue against his skin, the way their bodies are pressed so tightly together, and he arches back again, searching for more. There's still a faint edge of pain, but it's easy enough for Luke to ignore that, knowing it's just his body stretching, opening itself up for Reid, welcoming him. It's almost as if they're meant to fit together like this, a feeling Luke has gotten more than once during their time together, and he smiles briefly before his lips part and a low moan escapes. Reid has pulled back, thrusting into him, and it feels as if there are fireworks going off behind his eyelids, filling him up with pleasure and desire both. This is all so new to him and it doesn't surprise him in the slightest that he's experiencing it with Reid. There has been so much of their relationship that's new between them, so much Luke has never done before, and he loves that he's somehow managed to save these things for this man.
They're going to get married eventually, one thing Luke has always wanted, and even just thinking that now fills him with the kind of joy he used to assume was just lost to him. In the years before Darrow he had still pinned so much hope on Jocelyn, he'd still been waiting for her in a good number of ways, and while he's long since realized it was unfair to her, he's only just begun to realize it was unfair to him, too. That he deserved to find someone who loved him entirely, someone who didn't feel the need to hold back because they were worried he might take something the wrong way. He'd been blind to any other possibilities until he'd met Reid and now all he can do is thank his lucky stars he'd managed to end up here.
"Please," he manages to moan, arching back again, seeking more. He feels a little like he's lost the ability to speak, to tell Reid just how good he feels, how much more he wants, but he trusts his boyfriend to understand what he's trying to communicate all the same. The pain has all but disappeared now and Luke wants more of this. He needs more.

All that matters to him when it comes to sex is that he's making Luke feel as good as possible. Hearing his boyfriend beg, watching the needy arch of his back and the way his cock disappears into Luke's ass with every thrust, all of it only serves to want to give more, to give every last bit of himself in the name of making Luke come again. Leaning forward so he can nibble at Luke's earlobe, he uses his free hand to grip Luke's hip, pulling his boyfriend back to meet a harder thrust and doing his best to keep from letting out a gasp out how startlingly amazing that feels. Luke is so tight around him, so warm, and he thrusts again, faster this time and harder still, the slap of skin against skin filling him with satisfaction.
"I love fucking you," he murmurs, his voice wavering in his pleasure, little whimpers escaping from deep within his throat as he squeezes Luke's balls in time with yet another thrust. "I already want to fuck you again. And again and again, god, you feel so good." Reid hadn't known he'd enjoy this so much, it comes a complete surprise because he hadn't quite known what to expect in the first place. To be buried inside Luke, it's unlike nothing he's ever experienced before, and as he nears his orgasm, he's fairly certain that he's seeing stars. His heart is pounding in his chest, his breaths more labored, and Reid lets go of Luke's balls to focus instead on stroking his boyfriend's cock, encouraging him to edge closer to release.
With a strangled moan, muffled against Luke's shoulder, Reid begins to thrust faster, any rhythm he might have initially found now abandoned, and he doesn't know whether this is the right thing to do but it's what he needs. He's so close, his cock is aching with the need to come, but Reid doesn't want to stop until Luke is ready. "I'm close," he says, voice ragged now, "Luke, I'm so close. Need you to come first. I need to feel you come."

"Spencer," he groans and his voice is barely recognizable to his ears, a desperate sort of breath more than anything. He's trembling, his entire body is shaking, and then he's coming into Reid's hand, his muscles spasming, tightening, and suddenly Reid feels even bigger inside him, impossibly huge, terribly deep, and all he knows is it's the most wonderful sensation of his life. Reid has taken complete control and the way he's grabbed Luke and hauled him back against him, the way he's stroking his cock now, how deep he feels inside Luke's body, it's all so perfect. He's more than happy to give that control away, to let himself be treated this way, because it feels a little like being worshipped, and another shiver of pleasure undulates down his back again at the thought.
And now that he's come again, all he can do is collapse forward on the desk and let Reid use him however else he'd like. His hands are still curled over the edges of the desk, keeping himself from falling right off, but he can feel his body beginning to loosen, his muscles relaxing, and he grunts softly as Reid thrusts into him again and thinks about how perfect he feels. How he could stay here for the rest of his life, content in this moment, how he would never need anything else. Nothing more than Reid and this intimacy and this closeness they have together that he's never felt with anyone else.
"Spencer," he breathes again and it's more of a request this time. Reid had wanted to feel him come first and now Luke wants him to return that sensation. He wants to know what it's like for someone to come inside him, but not just anyone, this man. He wants to know how it feels to be filled in such a way, to know no one else has ever done this and no one else ever will. Reid will only ever be the only person to be with Luke in this way and he breathes out hard, then says, "Please."

He's barely in control of his own self anymore, his own actions, and he thrusts deeper into Luke, which seems impossible and yet here he is, pressing as far into his boyfriend as this position allows. A whimper is building in his throat as he fucks Luke harder, faster, one part of him needing to give his cock the release it needs and the other wishing this didn't have to end at all. But it does, he knows, and he'll be glad for it because for the first time, he'll get to know what it's like to come inside the man he loves, to share this kind of intimacy he'll never share with anyone else. What they do behind closed doors, the sexual experiences they've had together, none of it is anything like Reid had ever imagined he would find.
He's going to marry this man. This is never going to stop, they'll always have this, something strictly meant for the two of them and somehow, that's what does it. Knowing with absolute certainty that for the rest of his life, he'll be allowed to dedicate himself to Luke, to be trusted in this way that's incomparable to anything else, that's what pushes him over the edge. With a final grunt and thrust, he's coming, pulsing into his boyfriend's body as he drops his head to Luke's back, and he couldn't form words even if he tried. Every part of his body feels tense, it's an incredible sensation, and as his orgasm comes to an end, Reid can't help but to lazily thrust again, slow but unsteady, not yet willing to slip out.
For a moment, as they recover, they just stay like that, their bodies pressed together, sticky and hot. When he finally finds that there's necessity in moving, if only because he's sure Luke can't be comfortable like this, he presses a kiss to his boyfriend's shoulder blade and lifts himself up, carefully letting his cock free of Luke's ass with a little whine. "Bed or bath?" he asks, though his throat is dry, and he reaches out to help Luke straighten from being bent over on the desk, gliding his hands down Luke's sides until he's holding onto his hips. Pausing then, taking in the sight of Luke in the afterglow of their orgasms, he smiles then presses another kiss to Luke's lips. "There's so much I want to say right now, not the least of which is that I love you. But I think my legs might give out before I can say anything else at all."

But Reid is helping him up and Luke turns, allowing himself to be maneuvered, since he doesn't think he can move on his own just yet, and his arms slide around Reid's waist, his hands settling against the small of his back and he thinks he'd be content to do anything right now. Bed, bath, lie on the floor, there's nothing that wouldn't be entirely enjoyable because they're together. It's the only thing Luke needs. They've talked about it, they're going to get married, spend the rest of their lives together, and for Luke, it's the only thing in the world that matters right now.
Since he's already said bath, though, he begins to plod slowly in the direction of the bathroom and once he's moving, once he's in the bathroom and he takes a look at the big, sprawling tub that came with their room, he's reminded all over again that this is a good idea. Leaning over the edge, he turns on the taps until the water is nice and warm, then opens one of the bottles that had been left for them beside the tub and dumbs the contents in, watching as the sweet smelling bubbles grow higher and higher.
"It's possible I put in too much bubble bath," he comments offhandedly, but he has no problem with that at all. The scent is lovely, not too overpowering, even with his heightened senses, and Luke feels drained in the best possible sense of the word. He glances back at Reid, then smiles as he steps over the edge of the tub and sinks into the scented water. The bubbles rise and billow around his shoulders, making him laugh, but he finds a place to sit and relaxes into the corner, then raises one hand and gestures for Reid to join him. Even though the two of them are awfully tall, the tub has more than enough room for the both of them, which Luke appreciates. He wants to luxuriate in this and enjoy every last moment of their time together here.

("It'll save time and help the environment" is the argument they hadn't needed to come up with.)

so the instant sense of relaxation that comes with sinking into the warm, sudsy water like this comes as a pleasant surprise. Any tension that might have been left in his body from the sheer exertion of having sex very nearly non-stop since they'd woken up is already melting away, and Reid rests his head back against Luke's chest with a contented sigh as he allows his eyes to briefly flutter shut. "This weekend has been perfect," he murmurs, and it's true. There's been nothing weighing on his mind, he'd managed to let everything go for the sake of a romantic weekend away with the love of his life, and Reid is so beyond grateful that he's found someone who's influenced him enough to do that.
This isn't something he would have if he were back in his world, it just isn't. He can't picture a scene like this fitting into the life he'd had there, and it isn't that Reid had necessarily felt empty; it's more that there'd been a distinct void he hadn't known could be filled. Coming here had changed everything, from the very start, and it tracks that Luke would have been the first person he'd met here. The first person he'd felt a true connection with, the first friend, the only one in this entire city who will ever truly know Reid and understand him in a way nobody else possibly could; and one day, they'll be married. One day, he'll be able to call Luke Garroway his husband, and the thought is enough to make him shift in Luke's arms so he can offer a small smile.
"Thank you," he says sincerely, holding Luke's gaze. "Not just for this, for coming here with me, but for everything. For being in my life, for being you. Just... thank you."
